This Privacy Policy explains how Sublango (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our websites, browser extension(s), and related services that provide real-time speech recognition, translation, and on-screen subtitles (“Services”). By using the Services, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Contact Information

When you register or contact support, we collect information such as name, email, password (hashed), and any details you provide (e.g., company, phone).

Usage & Device Data

We collect technical data when you use our Services, for example: IP address, approximate location (country/city derived from IP), device/OS, browser type and version, language, time zone, feature engagement, error logs, and session identifiers.

Audio Content & Subtitles

Sublango does not capture or record audio from your device, tab, or streams. Your audio remains private and is never used to generate subtitles or voice-over. All features function without accessing or processing your audio in any form.

Billing & Payments

If you buy a plan or top-ups, our payment provider processes your payment data. We receive limited billing metadata (e.g., payment status, plan, minutes) but not your full card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide and operate the Services (real-time subtitles, translation, UI).
  • Measure usage, minutes, and quotas; prevent abuse and fraud.
  • Troubleshoot, improve accuracy/latency, and develop new features.
  • Communicate about service changes, security, and support.
  • Comply with legal/contractual obligations and enforce terms.

3. Legal Bases (EEA/UK)

We process personal data under one or more of: performance of a contract (to provide the Services), legitimate interests (security, improvement, analytics compatible with user expectations), legal obligation, and consent where required (e.g., certain cookies or marketing).

How We Share Information

We do not share your personal information with any third parties. All data we collect is used solely to provide and improve the Sublango service.

5. Cookies & Similar Technologies

We use necessary cookies for sign-in and session continuity, and (where permitted) optional analytics to help improve performance and reliability.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Real-time audio is generally processed transiently; derived text/metrics (e.g., minutes, session metadata like source site and language) may be stored to power history, billing, and support.

7. Security

We implement administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect data (encryption in transit, access controls, auditing). However, no system is 100% secure. Report security issues to Support Center.

8. International Data Transfers

We may process and store data in the EEA and other countries. Where data leaves the EEA/UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, and require processors to implement adequate protections.

9. Your Rights & Choices

  • Access, correction, deletion, and portability of your personal data (subject to limitations).
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent where applicable.
  • Opt out of non-essential communications via unsubscribe links or settings.

To exercise rights, contact Support Center. We will respond per applicable law. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

10. Third-Party Platforms

Sublango may interact with websites and apps you use (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, HBO Max, Rakuten Viki, Udemy, Coursera ). Those platforms have their own privacy practices, which we do not control. Your use of them remains subject to their policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and revise the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated via in-product notice or email, where appropriate.
